The HF-24 Marut was India's first indigenous jet fighter — the first one built anywhere in Asia outside the Soviet Union. Early on, almost everyone had a reason it wouldn't work: underpowered, over-delayed, over-ambitious for a country that had never built one before.
It flew anyway. And in 1971, it flew into combat and earned a record the doubters didn't see coming. That's the only inheritance this watch cares about — not the aesthetics of an aircraft, but the instinct to build the thing you believe in before anyone signs off on it.
